Is this a Potato Princess who is sweet? Or a Sweet-Potato Princess? It’s the latter. Why? Because she’s wearing a kick-ass military jacket, and mega-boots. In bed. With a book. She probably swears on occasion too. Oh, and she was developed for #Colour_Collective. (This week’s colour was – you’ve guessed it – Sweet Potato).Continue reading “Sweet Potato Princess”

#Colour_Collective
So here she is – my favourite Left Hand Large Lady… updated for #colour_collective – a Twitter event (is that the expression?) – You post work at 19.30 each Friday, made using a colour that is specified on the previous Saturday. I had so much fun, I’ll probably do it again… so watch out for moreContinue reading “#Colour_Collective”
Gentleman on Train
I drew this on the crowded Braintree train, on my way home with my eldest son, on January 21. We’d spent the day mudlarking under the millennium bridge and lying on the floor under blankets at the Tate Modern. It was a good day.
Naked Trampolining
Who knows, perhaps there are groups dedicated to furthering the sport of naked trampolining; devoting their weekends to the free swinging of body parts, in various secret locations around the country. Black Dog
I was thinking about an image to represent how the past 24 hours had been spent in the company of the damned black dog…
Unplugged
A little project for a very cool charity called London Play, and an event they are running called Unplugged in Enfield. This logo has been designed for a promotional badge, hence the bold colours and lines. I was asked to create a robot-child that was running free, hence the addition of a trailing USB.
Just Imagine Shelving
A recent project for Just Imagine Story Centre. You’ll see Imogen is here, from earlier days…
Frustrated Face-Palm Mum
I’m working on a lovely wee educational picture book with Oxford University Press at the moment. I’ve been busy with the roughs stage, and then its been Christmas – and I’m not sure how much I am allowed to say about the book just yet, so I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog recently. Yet thisContinue reading “Frustrated Face-Palm Mum”
Wildlife Mural at Thorndon
The mural is at Thorndon Country Park Visitor Centre, in Brentwood, Essex. It’s in the cafe, but you can’t see it from the cafe. If you’d like to take a look, you’d have to ask to peek in the Education Room. The room is used for children’s parties too, and it’s also used to store aContinue reading “Wildlife Mural at Thorndon”
Large ladies drawn with my left hand
Because, well – why not? I might try some reportage work using my left hand. I think this would be the first time I’ve drawn from my imagination using my left hand. I will definitely be doing it some more. Any suggestions for subject matter?
